HTP Performance Inc. is a motorcycle performance shop located in Richmond, VA. Specializing in Drag Racing, Owner/Crew Chief, Cecil Towner, has built some of the fastest motorcycles in the WORLD. This page was set up to chronicle Team HTP's Race Season.

HTP's nitrous-powered GSXR1000 once-again dominated in its class and claimed another MiRock Real Street championship in 2009. Already a record-breaking ride into the 7s, Cecil Towner is confident that his new hire, noted NHRA rider Ryan Schnitz, has the rider skills to take this bike to a whole new level.

Keith Thompson and Lavar Delee will now battle it out in the highly-competitive Pro Street Class. Typically a turbo-driven class, Cecil Towner has taken on the challenge of building a nitrous ProStreet bike. Despite the naysayers, he is fully confident that his 08 Hayabusa will be competitive in this class featuring the world's quickest street bikes.

Memphis

From Dragbike.com: http://www.dragbike.com/dbnews/anmviewer.asp?a=4847&z=13 "AMA DRAGBIKE has reluctantly cancelled the Memphis Spring Nationals today. We expected Friday to be rain out but it turned out to be a great day of racing. Over night the track was soaked with persistent rain and thunderstorms. Today the rain is falling with no end in sight. Sunday morning shows a possible window of 4 to 6 hours of potential racing time but even that isn't guaranteed. Because of the economic conditions and track availability we will not be rescheduling this event. We appreciate all the racers that came out to support the series and their classes despite the changing forecast all week. All racers that did show up were rewarded with 11 points for their tech card plus the additional first round loser points."

MIR Recap

The Pro Street Busa bettered the nitrous national record with a 7.48. Keith Thompson set the Real Street ET record with a 8.01. He battled Rickey Grayson in the Final. Unfortunately, he redlit to give Grayson the win. Next race, Memphis.
